Supported Day Services

  • Self & Personal care - this covers everything from washing, showering, taking a bath, shaving, hair washing, good personal hygiene to make you feel good about yourself, application of makeup if required, appropriate dress sense to enable clients to chose what is best suited to them, help with what looks"good" and makes them feel good about themselves, in order to boost their self-esteem.
  • Domestic skills – this includes all household chores such as bed making, washing, drying, ironing and general household duties such as hovering, washing floors and dusting. These skills are re-taught in order to boost self-esteem and self confidence.
  • Food skills – this includes a food hygiene course where a certificate is gained once passed. Clients will go out to supermarkets  for grocery shopping, learn budgeting for meals, food preparation and cookery. We also grow some of our own fruit and vegetables!
  • Financial management – includes monetary value, keeping track of spending, paying bills on time, the importance of the bills and why we pay them, and safekeeping of money. This also includes effective use of budgeting on a weekly basis so that when a client moves into their own flat or shared house all these skills will help to maintain their own home and allow the client to be as independent as possible.
