Norwich Day Services for Adults with Learning Difficulties in Norfolk

We offer a varied and popular list of day services which we welcome service users from other service providers to attend.

Our day services offers the opportunity to provide staff to spend time with small groups of clients, we have the use of a company 6-seater people carrier with boot space for a folding wheelchair if necessary. We use our day services to enable clients to become more independent and confident as well as learning new skills whilst being in a safe environment and having lots of fun!!

In doing this we carry out a wide range of activities and visit many places – almost all are educational, although occasional some are just for fun!!

We also offer recreational activities to all of our service users.

In addition to our day services package we also offer a life skills programme. This programme is aimed at individual service users to support them to achieve maximum independence and control within their own lives.

All service users are thoroughly assessed when beginning the programme so that each aspect is tailored to their specific needs; progress is recorded and reviewed on a regular basis.

Areas covered by our life skills programme include:

Personal care - this covers washing/bathing, shaving, hair washing, good hygiene, application of makeup and appropriate dress sense.

Domestic skills – this includes all household chores such as bed making, washing, drying, ironing and general household duties’ such as hoovering, washing floors and dusting etc

Food skills – this includes a food hygiene course and grocery shopping, budgeting for meals and preparing and cooking of food. We also grow some of our own fruit and vegetables’!

Financial management – includes monetary value, keeping track of what you are spending, paying bills on time etc, the safekeeping of money and effective use of budgeting.
